The Caffè Portici is located next door to the Hotel buildings and under the management of the same Hotel proprietors. The imposing architecture of the historic eighteenth century setting has been faithfully conserved and today hosts a bar-ice cream parlour but, above all, can boast cakes and pastries prepared to the highest standards in the kitchens and, in particular, an exclusive handmade selection of the main, local sweetmeat specialities:

RISOLE: light puff-pastry bags filled with apricot jam.

PASTE DI MELIGA: a crumbly, elongated biscuit for breakfast or round-shaped for tea, which is made using yellow stone-ground maize flour instead of normal white flour.

AMOR POLENTA: a soft plum cake ante litteram, made in the same way as our grandmothers’ recipe using maize flour.

SANTUARIESI Al RHUM O ALLA NOCCIOLA: a very old "Cuneese" chocolate with a meringue outer shell filled with a smooth rum-flavoured cream (or Langa hazelnut cream), covered with the finest plain chocolate.

These specialities are available along with our daily production of fresh croissant, mignon pastries and fine milk chocolate pralines and chocolates.

You will find this fine selection served daily at breakfast and during buffet lunches at the Hotel.
